Bishop Hezron M. Farrell Biography
Bishop Hezron M. Farrell was born on August 27, 1940 to the late William and Henrietta Farrell. The sixth of eight children, he was brought up in a strong Christian environment. He was educated at the Bethel Government School, St. George’s High School, and the Weslyan Government School on the island of Montserrat. His personal commitment to Christ began at an early age after which he migrated to London, England, in the early 1960’s. There, he worked as a supervisor at Schiebert Furniture Company for many years.
In 1967, he rededicated his life to Christ and served faithfully in Shiloh Pentecostal Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Betty Ryan. He was then called to the ministry and ordained as a deacon in 1970, serving the church in various capacities. During that time the Holy Spirit spoke prophetically concerning the work of the ministry in the United States and in 1974, the Lord opened the door for him to migrate to the United States with his family. Deacon Farrell continued to serve the Lord faithfully under the leadership of Bishop James Peters in the Church of God of Prophecy. The Holy Spirit continued to speak and prepared him for a higher calling to the ministry of a Pastor. He was set apart and ordained by Dr. Rev. Hezekiah Farrell of Deeper Life Revival Church in 1978.
As Pastor Hezron Farrell meditated on the words of 1 Timothy 4:14, and gave himself wholly to the call of God, he had a great passion to evangelize and win souls for the Kingdom of God.In 1979, after much prayer and fasting, God gave Pastor Hezron Farrell a vision to start a church and name it Gladtidings Pentecostal Assembly, which began in 1980. He held Sunday services in his home until he moved into the Y.M.C.A. in Dorchester to accommodate the growing congregation. The church continued to grow and God enabled them to purchase their own building at 640 Washington Street in Dorchester. After ten years, that became too small and God gave him another vision to build a new edifice on Norfolk Street. Though the land was purchased in 1992, grounds was not broken until 1995. However, Pastor Hezron Farrell held on to his faith that God would direct and funds would be provided to see this dream to a reality. In 1996, they marched into their newly erected edifice. The Lord gave him another vision to pay off the 30-year mortgage in three years. This also became a reality in October 1999. To God be the glory! In recognition of his calling and profound obedience and willingness as a servant of God, he was elevated to the sacred office of a Bishop in the year of our Lord two thousand.
Bishop Hezron Farrell is the faithful husband of one wife, Rev. Gwendolyn Farrell, and the proud father of four: Yvonne, Samuel, Roy, and Michelle. He is also the grandfather of four. He is truly a great man that leads by example, as all of his children have worked to establish the ministry. His accomplishments are many. He is a recipient of many awards in recognition of his achievements and dedication to the service of God.
Rev. Dr. Gwendolyn Farrell Biography
Dr Gwendolyn Farrell, a servant of the most high God, was birthed into destiny on the island of Montserrat for such a time as this. She commenced her education at the Bethel public school and at an early age she was saved and called by God for a purpose. She later migrated to London, England where she continued her High School education. Not long after, she met and married Mr. Hezron Farrell who is currently the presiding Bishop of Gladtidings House of Prayer. They have been married for over forty years and are the proud parents of four children and four grandchildren.
While there in London, she attended Shiloh Pentecostal Church and received her training for ministry under the tutelage of Pastor Betty White, who was a praying woman. It was also there that Dr Farrell received the prophetic call to destiny and fulfillment of her purpose. This call brought her family to Boston, Massachusetts where numerous doors have been opened and have caused her to excel in dynamic ways by the grace of God.
Dr Farrell is the recipient of several degrees and awards. She received her initial license as a practical nurse in 1979. She later pursued higher education and graduated as a Registered Nurse with her Bachelors degree in Nursing obtained from Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston, MA. During this time she made herself available to God and sought for opportunities to be used by Him to edify and encourage the Body of Christ.
This passion and vision for more knowledge of God led her to many highly acclaimed religious colleges in the United States where she attended various seminars and received certificates of recognition. Some of these schools include: World Harvest Bible College of Columbus, Ohio; Kingdom University Ministry School of Atlanta, GA; Keys of the Kingdom Academy of Brockton, MA and Logos Christian University of Jacksonville, FL (now in Pointe Vedra, FL). In 2007 she graduated with her Master’s in Theology from Logos Christian Graduate School and in 2009 she was the proud recipient of a Doctorate degree in Theology, also from Logos Christian University.
The anointing and passion on her life is to see souls saved and delivered; to manifest God’s glory and walk in His fullness; to release God’s healing power to the sick; and to teach God’s people how to walk in revelation knowledge of God’s word. The call of God on her life has led her, by God’s grace, to establish the GPA Bible Academy in 2001 for the purpose of equipping the Body of Christ. This powerful woman of God is an intercessor, worshipper and trailblazer, and has been given a mandate by God in a vision, to raise up an end time army in this generation.
This mighty woman of God ministers under the unction of the Holy Spirit with the word of prophecy and the spirit of discernment in the supernatural. She is also endowed with revelation knowledge in dreams and visions. Doors of opportunity have been opened for her where she ministers over the radio, and she has travelled extensively to areas such as Australia, Europe, Africa, Asia, several Caribbean islands and various states in the U.S. She continues to make herself available to God for His purpose. Her vision and mission was birthed out of Isaiah 61:1. Of a truth she’s a virtuous woman - humble, affectionate, and often referred to as a fire-ball in the spirit. She’s known as God’s mouth-piece with an apostolic anointing preparing the way of the Lord.
